EXO is a South Korean-Chinese boy group which debuted on 2012 with the song titled “Mama” under S.M Entertainment. They were separated into two subgroups: performing in Korean was EXO–K, (Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai, Sehun) and performing in Mandarin was EXO–M, (Kris, Xiumin, Luhan, Lay, Chen, Tao).

EXO first consisted of twelve talented and amazing members, until 2014 - 2015 when three Chinese members left the group. After that, EXO continued making music as nine members.  

On October 5, 2016 S.M Entertainment debuted the very colourful first sub-unit of EXO, called “EXO-CBX” consisting of the three cheerful and talented members (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) who wanted, through this sub-unit, to be able to get closer fans and see them more often.

Exo : “Triple Million Seller”      

In 2013, with their first studio album called “XOXO”, they sold 1 million copies making EXO the first Korean Artist to sell over a million copies after twelve years and broke the record for being the fastest-selling K-pop act (Soompi, 2013).

In 2015, they released their second studio album called “Exodus”. Domestic pre-orders for the album surpassed 500,000 within 24 hours setting a new record for pre-orders. Later on Exodus went on to sell over a million copies which made the second album of EXO sell 1M copies after “XOXO” (Soompi, 2015).

In 2016, they released their third studio album called “Ex’Act” and the domestic pre-orders for the album surpassed 660,000, making it the most pre-ordered album of all time. The album later broke the record for the highest first week sales of a Korean album, breaking their own previous record set by Sing For You, which sold 522,372 copies in one week.

With two months of the release “Ex’Act” sold over 1.17 million copies making EXO a “Triple Million Seller” (Soompi, 2016).
